Level 1 Certificate

Provides a broad introduction to the theoretical and practical aspects of tourism for a front line employee.

This level includes the following:

  • Reservations and ticketing within travel and tourism
  • Marketing

Level 2 Diploma

The diploma level provides a broad range of skills appropriate to persons at the supervisory.

This level includes the following:

  • International tourism Geography
  • Customer service operations

  • Business systems
  • Marketing Operations
  • Developing local tourism destination
  • Related tourism services

Level 3 Advanced Diploma

This level is appropriate for a person preparing for higher education or working in a first-level management.

  • Managing operations and information

Entry Requirements

Certificate Level Applicants

There are no formal entry requirements for candidates undertaking these qualifications. Career Advancement Programme (CAP) applicants, ages 16- 19will be subjected to do a Math’s and English entry test. Applicants should also complete and submit a registration form with the required supporting documents stated on the application form.

Diploma Level Applicants

Applicants should possess a minimum four (4) CXC/ CAPE subjects, Math’s and English and any other related subjects OR a minimum of two (2) years’ work experience may also be considered. Applicants should also complete and submit a registration form with the required supporting documents stated on the application form. Applicants ages 16- 19 who do have the specified CXC/CAPE subjects may still be subjected to sit a Diagnostic Mathematics and English Test.  Advanced Diploma applicants should already possess a level 2 Diploma in the said field from a recognized tertiary level Institution OR three- four (3-4) years work experience may also be considered.
